We are very sorry, but we have to limit our adoptions to the East Coast of Florida. Our process requires home visits and follow up visits
and since we are all located on the East Coast,
adoption on the West Coast is just not a possibility.
Please check the West Coast Golden Retriever Rescues listed below...

Deema- adoption in progress
Hi. my name is Deema. Please read what my Mom has to say about me:
My dog's name is Deema. She is a 7 month old Golden Retriever. She is one of the most loving and energetic dogs you will ever meet. She loves to play fetch ( it's her favorite game), get rubs on her belly, run, take hour walks, chase ducks, kiss you, and play with the sprinklers. Deema does great with toddlers but is still not old enough to realize her own strength. She still needs training but catches on quickly. Her favorite training treat is cheese.
Deema is still a puppy and LOVES to chew on everything. She is also still in the puppy biting stage and can scratch young children with her teeth by accident. Bedding is not the best option for her now because she will chew it up when bored. She loves to sleep on her back and does good with car rides. She is very strong and not trained on the leash yet (something that we have been working on but yet to accomplish). She loves other dogs and gets super excited. She needs a home that is willing to give her lots of love and attention. She really is the biggest sweetheart and knows commands sit, lay, bed and ball (although at times she may need a refresher). Anyone would be lucky to have her.
If you want to be "the lucky one" please call Lisa @ 561 776-0857

Sweetie
Every time you think you have seen ENOUGH cruelty and suffering....something else comes along. Meet Sweetie. She is around 4 years old. By the nature of her wounds we and the vet who will try and save her life believe she has been used as a bait dog. For those of you lucky enough to not know what that is. It is simply a kind and gentle dog (often Golden puppies are used) that is used to teach fighting dog how to rip other dogs to shreds. These wounds are NOT the result of a fight. There are old (older than the current ones you can clearly see) infected wounds on her neck where a dog had her by the throat. Forgive me for being so graphic. I am angry! I am angry at so many things. People dumping old and sick dogs at MDAS for the Rescue to pull, if only to give medical aid so they do not die in pain and in a loving home. Or a dog like Cutler who was just DUMPED by a dumpster. Or the 2 dogs we have had at Central Broward Animal Hospital for over a month in an attempt to save their lives and get them healthy enough to be adopted. (that would be Tobby and Charlie 2).....And now poor Sweetie. If she lives (prayers for her, please). it is likely we will need some financial help. We HATE to be bugging people about money...every one needs money...but if you have been following us recently, you know what our medical bills have been like. If you do want to help, here's how:
Go to the How to Help page and click on Pay pal or send a check to:
Golden Rescue South Florida
c/o LeeAnn Runkle
PO Box 17084
Plantation, FL 33318
After a thorough exam, X-rays and consultation with 2 of the vets at CBAH, and with the knowledge and consent of Xiomara and Michael at the pound, euthanizing Sweetie was the most humane course action.
May she rest in peace.....

Biscuit- adopted
HEY! wassup? Want to meet a young "stud". Well, I won't be a stud for long...I will be neutered....sigh! Anyway, my name is Biscuit...a little "girlie"for my taste. I am 18 months old. I have papers and am current on all my shots. I am the perfect family dog. I love Kids and would love to have some to run and play with. A fenced backyard would be awesome and a busy and active life would suit me just fine. Want to meet me...call Lee Ann @954 792-8789
Lille
I hope you like gorgeous blondes! Just look at my picture....gorgeous is an understatement! Before you read what my adopted Mom wrote...perhaps you should hear it from me. Little Kids make me jumpy! As a matter of fact....so do little dogs. I am really looking for a forever home with bigger kids (or no kids) and a big dog. I could be an only dog...if my "people" are around a lot. OK now go ahead and read all about me.
Lille is a 4 year old, beautiful “Velcro”Golden retriever that loves to sit and shake hands with her people. She doesn't get on furniture and is excellent in the potty dept. Lille rarely barks and knows basic commands such as “go out” “ sit” “ time to go to bed” and is excellent on a leash. Walks are her favorite time of the day. She doesn't care for small dogs but big dogs seem to be ok w/her. Lille has a strong hunt instinct so fast movement peeks her attention. She would be great in a house w/ teens and/or another large dog to keep her company during the thunderstorms or when her people are out . She wears her thunder coat and feels a little better until the storm subsides. Loud noises do make her nervous but over the past few months she has learned not to be as frightened. If you think I would be a happy dog in your home. Please call Lee Ann @ 954 792-8789

Cutler
My name is Leon. You may have seen my picture on the Rescue Face Book page. I was one of the 3 dogs that came out of MDAS on Memorial Day weekend. THANK YOU TO THE FRIENDS OF THE RESCUE. I am being fostered with a little dog and a cat and I am fine with them. I love to take walks. I am a quiet guy. I don't bark much and I love to cuddle and give lots of kisses.
Update on Leon:
Wow, I am feeling MUCH better. I was a pretty sick little guy. I had pneumonia! I spent several days in the hospital and MANY days with Bob and Lisa and my 4 furry foster siblings. Now I am thriving. My coat is shiny and I smile a lot. I am pretty small for a guy. My FAVORITE thing in the whole world is to snuggle, cuddle and sleep on a people bed. PLEASE - IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING ADOPTING ME....don't if I cannot sleep on your bed. I am kind of like a cat. I walk quietly, I wash my face with my paws. I am a little bit of a talker...softly, especially when I roll around. Honestly, I am such a love. I would make the best 24/7 companion for someone. I LOVE taking walks. Show me my leash and my tail goes 100 miles a minute. I am a dream on the leash. Mostly, I don't even NEED a leash.. I am such a special little guy. So, please call Denise @954 796-7560

Zoe- adoption in progress
it is a little tough to talk with a tennis ball in my mouth. But I will try! My name is Zoe. I am a 4 month old, adorable, almost Golden little girl. I am about 17 pounds...not too big...not too small! I am amazing as I am house broken and don't even need a crate. I don't know any tricks yet, but I sure do come when I am called. I Am a sweet tempered, joyful little girl. I love other dogs. I am certain I will like cats....and KIDS....bring 'em on! Please call Lisa to meet me @561 776-0857.
